Wondertropolis ‘Skyscraper’ JSK; BTSSB hairclip; Everything Else Offbrand

I have wanted this dress since getting into lolita - I think it came out around the time I got into the fashion - but had put the thought to one side as it’s an indie brand and they’re hard to find second hand as they have smaller production runs. I’m so glad it came up for sale whilst I was in a position to buy it!

Completed Project - Pirate Map Print JSK

I want to take better photos of this, but I can’t quite remember the whereabouts of my camera so an iPad photo is better than nothing! Velvet fully-lined princess seamed bodice, map print heavyweight cotton, and black lace. The back is fully shirred (although the velvet is that thick that there isn’t that much stretch), and the straps are adjustable with buttons.

It’ll be going into my Etsy once I’ve taken better photos!

Innocent World have firmly cemented themselves as my favourite brand (alongside Metamorphose). They’re just so pleasant to communicate with and order from!

I placed an order in their summer sale approximately one hour after it opened, but the colourway I originally ordered of the King of Lolita JSK had sold out - they sent a very apologetic email letting me know within three hours. I re-ordered in beige and kept the Lion and Unicorn socks in my order. There were then some very tense days where I heard nothing from IW so was keeping my eye on the website stock levels of things, and the socks I wanted sold out. I then pre-emptively emailed to let them know I wanted to get just the dress (as I didn’t want to go to the back of the queue for orders!) and received this email in reply, less than 24 hours later. I’m really pleased that they went to such trouble to hunt down the socks for me, as well as managing to reply to me so quickly during their busy sale period!

On the subject of Meta, I’ve just ordered their Princess Wardrobe luckypack and managed to somehow check out and not pay for postage (I think I mistranslated something). They very patiently emailed me and gave me detailed instructions - I sent them the missing fee as a gift, and they too were incredibly quick to reply to me and sent my order out almost immediately after I paid them.

I haven’t ordered directly from brands before (although I tried in the winter IW sale!), but I’ve picked up some extra hours at my job and decided to splurge. IW and Meta are my favourite because they very often make longer lengths which are much better for me, and I wanted to support them by ordering directly from them.

Completed Projects - an Assortment of Bags and Cushion Covers

Not only am I running the Etsy shop over at libbypeaches, I’ve started another shop focusing on non-J-fashion items in an attempt to work through the stash of fabric I’ve built up over the years. No, I’m not entirely sure why I ever owned racing car print fabric - I still have a meter and a half left!

I’m running this one with my mother, who has gotten into making felt brooches, and I’m hoping that it’s going to turn my stash into useful things that find new homes. Of course, I’m fairly certain that any money I earn from this will go into buying new fabric to sit in the stash, and thus the cycle will continue.

This shop is selling under the name Cardinal Rose, and can be found here on Etsy.

There is also a Facebook page here - I want to try and be more active with it!

Outfit from 16-07-2014

IW dress, Vivenne Westwood Shoes, and Everything Else Offbrand

It was overcast today, but I think a heavy velveteen dress was still too hot for the climate! I’m simultaneously both disappointed and very happy with these tights - they fit me, which is a relief on my long legs, but they’re very faded compared to the picture (even when not stretched out).

Two Co-ordinates with my Handmade Blossom JSK

Handmade JSK, Everything Else Offbrand. I tried to put together outfits without having to buy anything new - I’m quite glad I hung onto these purple shoes instead of selling them now! I really like the teal cutsew under the JSK, but I think it needs teal shoes to balance it out so I am more likely to wear the white and lavender co-ord on the left.

oh, is fleece some kind of fabric? I didn’t know it, looks so ncie and comfortable. :3

Yep, it’s a type of fabric - it’s a fuzzy knit type thing that’s really warm! This fleece is actually really soft, although I have some red fleece in my stash that’s not as nice (I prefer buying in person so I can feel it beforehand). It’s the same material fleece blankets are made of
